Be among the first to see areas of the Colosseum only recently open for view – we have access! You‘ll see where gladiators prepared to fight and get a bird‘s eye view of the arena from the top tier.
The ancient Roman Colosseum has fascinated visitors throughout history, evoking images of fierce gladiators, roaring crowds, wild lions and tigers springing from their cages. For the first time there is now access to this awe-inspiring edifice’s underground level and to the upper third tier, closed since the 1970’s, as well - not for the general public, but through this tour.
On the underground level of the Colosseum, you’ll see where preparations were made for the life and death “games” played out on the arena floor. Climbing to the upper third tier, you’ll be rewarded with stunning panoramic vistas that include the amphitheater, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill.
Not content with a bird’s eye view of ancient Roman sites, we’ll take you to experience them up close and personal. You’ll visit the Roman Forum - once the site of a lively marketplace - and the Via Sacra - ancient Rome’s main street, which Caesar’s soldiers marched down on their return from battles. At the Palatine Hill, you’ll hear the legend of Romulus and Remus, brothers abandoned as babies and raised by a she-wolf. The two brothers fought one another to create an empire with Romulus the victor and the founder of Rome.
Take this special tour to recreate ancient Rome and to create your own memories of the remarkable sights you’ll see!
